Billings Method ProcedureComing off the PillSometimes the client will ask 'Should I finish the present course of tablets or stop at once?' and the correct Answer is that the sooner the medication is stopped the better; the usual withdrawal bleeding can be expected some days later. While an abnormal physiological state has resulted from the contraceptive medication, this will not prevent application of the Billings Ovulation Method rules to the observations, and the rules will provide security if it is the intention to avoid pregnancy. When coming off the pill it is wise to delay conception for a time paying attention to a good dietary intake with adequate vitamins. The pill causes a gross disturbance of the normal reproductive physiology and the disturbance may persist for a varying amount of time after the medication is discontinued. Couples gain understanding and confidence from an accredited Billings Ovulation Method teacher. For further information please contact us enq@naomi.ie |
