Billings Method Procedure

Professional training in the rules and procedures of the Billings Ovulation Method is essential. At N.A.O.M.I. our qualified teachers will guide the couple through all aspects of using the method, thereby ensuring proper understanding leading to the successful use of the method.

Once contact has been made with the chosen centre, the couple will be given an appointment for your initial consultation with one of our qualified teachers. This initial consultation usually last for approximately 40 minutes and covers:

History of the Method
Female Anatomy & Male Anatomy
Menstrual Cycle
Observing the presence of mucus and reading the body's natural sensations.
Charting & Recording
In addition to the above, specialised training is given for the following:
Achieving Pregnancy
Postponing Pregnancy
Coming off the Pill
Breast-Feeding
Pre-Menopause
You will be supplied with all the necessary support material including books, charts and stamps (for recording). As N.A.O.M.I. is a charitable organisation no fees will be charged for teaching, however donations may be given to cover the costs of materials etc. supplied.
After your initial consultation we recommend a minimum of 3/4 follow up appointments. Many couples using the method return for additional consultations in line with their changing circumstances throughout their reproductive life.
